the end-of-year thing

1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?
Worked camp, got engaged, met and hung out with childhood heroes (dcTalk, audioA,etc.), jumped off a roof into a pool, and a bunch of other random crazy stuff.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Don’t remember making any.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Cory and Isaac.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Dixie and Katie. Oh how it sucks.
5. What countries did you visit?
Surprisingly, I didn’t leave the country this year I don’t think….unless southern Georgia counts.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Telekinetic powers, but that’ll probably never happen.
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 12, you dummy. Kimmie-Jane and I got engaged.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
The whole talking-to-Kim’s-dad-and-then-getting-a-ring-and-proposing process.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Probably the whole putting-Rebekah’s-car-on-blocks-then-leaving-a-bike-next-to-it-with-a-note-that-says-“have a nice ride to class!” incident. That didn’t go over very well at all.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not significant.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Kimmie-Jane’s engagement ring.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
God’s. Providence beyond measure or comprehension. Also, Jon in Iraq.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The Tennessee Tech ResLife mafia. But I won.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Either school or the ring (but I’m not telling, haha!)
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Engagement, camp, GMA week, HERO: The Rock Opera….all were awesome.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Any song from camp, especially “Walking on Sunshine” by Reel Big Fish
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Happier.
II. thinner or fatter? Just some slight insulation.
III. richer or poorer? Poorer
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Saved money.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Bought random stuff.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the fi’ and the in-laws to be.
21. [like last year, there is no question 21]
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
I fall more in love every day.
23. How many one-night stands?
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Well, I guess Conan O’Brien or Smallville
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
26. What was the best book you read?
Didn’t read many besides the Bible, but “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” is a useful read.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Well that’s a hard one. I got familiar with a lot of local bands and such, and widened my hardcore/metal spectrum quite a bit.
28. What did you want and get?
To be plugged into the Christian music industry in Nashville and establish connections therein (got WAY farther than I thought possible — Thanks, Philip and True Artist!), to be the video producer at a Fuge camp, to be engaged! A ton of other stuff too long to list…..
29. [There’s no question 29 this year?]
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Hmmm. Can’t decide among Blade: Trinity, Shrek2, Spiderman 2,etc. I’m sure there are some I’ve forgotten.

Turned 20. Don’t really remember.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Telekinetic powers.

T-shirts, shorts or cargo jeans, barefoot or flip-flops (except for when really cold – then shoes), black leather trench (when cold, too).
34. What kept you sane?
God’s grace & mercy, Kimmie’s love.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Weird question. Probably everyone in HERO: The Rock Opera, just ‘cuz I’m a fanboy.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Election. The war isn’t a political issue, it’s duty.
37. Who did you miss?
The guys, my cats, and Kimmie whenever I was away from her.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Again, can’t decide. I love a lot of people on my camp team. CK2K4 rocks!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you earned in 2004:
I’ve always known this, but it’s been real this year; God always comes through, especially once you finally give up, surrender your worry, and hand the problem to Him.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Life’s a journey, not a destination.
